In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus commissioned His disciples to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you..."  Thus, Jesus gave the directive to evangelize the world, but He didn't stop there, Jesus also told His disciples to reproduce themselves by teaching new believers to live by the gospel of God.

Here at Southwinds we believe that biblical evangelism leads to a lifestyle of discipleship.  We are challenged with the words of the Apostle Paul to young Timothy, "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." (II Tim 2:2)

Just what is a disciple?  A disciple is a learner...one who has a student relationship with his discipler.  Often the term disciple is confused with one who only learns facts.  But a true disciple is one who knows about God and that knowledge has affected him in every aspect of his life...stated another way, his head knowledge has reached his heart.
