At the conclusion of each worship service, we extend an invitation to those seeking a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and/or to those seeking membership in the Southwinds family. Those who desire may walk to the front of the worship center where a counselor will be waiting to greet and speak with you about your decision. During this time you will receive an information packet outlining the steps you should take to become a member of Southwinds.
Membership is also open to anyone who has made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Southwinds receives people into membership in one of four ways:
By transfer of your membership from a Baptist church
This is best for those individuals who are members of another Baptist church of similar faith and belief.
By your statement of faith in Christ
This is best for those individuals who have invited Jesus into their lives and have been biblically baptized by immersion but are not presently members of a Baptist church or are unable to secure a letter of church membership.
By salvation and baptism
This is best for those individuals who are inviting Jesus into their lives and are beginning an eternal relationship with Him, and wish to be baptized as a symbol of their acceptance of Jesus.
By baptism
This is best for those individuals who have previously invited Jesus into their lives but have not yet been biblically baptized by immersion and wish to be baptized as a symbol of their acceptance of Jesus.
